J. Dolan's is in our neighborhood and this was our first visit. Great location and fun. This pizza was delicious and they have onion rings! We will be back soon.
Good friendly staff, she gave us good advice on what to order. We came in a group of 4, and got a couple appetizers - jalapeño poppers and onion rings - that were onolicious (the sauce that comes with both are divine) and some pizzas. The pizzas overall were good. We got two of the half & half style - deli meats, pepperoni, scampi, and margarita. The scampi was my favorite, followed by the margarita. The deli meats was good but a bit salty, and the peperoni was okay. It's thin crust, so we ended up ordering a 3rd pizza (this time we chose scampi and deli meats). So my one complaint about the pizza was I wish it was at least thicker so it could be more filling. Overall good experience and I world recommend.
Quick friendly service. Pizza prepared perfectly. Love the thin crust. The football game was on but it wasn't noisy. Decent crowd of diners and drinkers. Did not have anything from the bar. It looked like there were a lot of regulars that come to the restaurant.
Great 'Irish Pub', but not really your typical because their main dish is pizza. Bartenders are all top notch, friendly, open to conversation, and have a good sense of humor. Spanking clean and AC set just right. I've never disappointed stopping by this classy watering hole.
Best pizza we had on island when we lived there! Worth the 30 minute drive from Aiea.
Italian and Mexican food are subpar in Hawaii, but this place was awesome! Friendly staff, a good menu, and decent prices! Would definitely recommend over any other spot!

I'd say in terms of actual pizza quality the pizza here is made from solid ingredients. It could benefit from a stronger flavor overall though.
I think you'll be very happy if you're going for a meat oriented pizza where the meat can dominate the flavor profile. You'll also probably be happier if you prefer more of a sweet sauce than a zesty/spicy sauce (i.e. a great place for a pepperoni, not the best for a veggie, based on my experience with the margarita pizza).

Overall, still a much needed and not terribly bad option bar-wise in the area, and the food is very basic but good. I'm guessing he's having the same typ of problems everyone else is having and the dust needs to settle. I've been a couple times and the service at the bar is good. They seem to do a significant amount of takeout which is good as the place fills up quickly. Professionally speaking, if the design of the space, especially the podium was a little different, I think they could facilitate much more volume. No Anheuser Busch products on tap either. Oh well. I do wish them much success and given the size, looks like they'll be okay. Wish the bathroom had a door for the toilet too. This isn't a dormitory setting. Give them a try for yourself as I see reviews are all over the map. That's usually a negative indicator but like I said, still a decent and much needed option in the area.
J Dolan’s (Kahala) From time to time 5-10 colleagues & I would go to J Dolan’s in downtown for happy hour and pizza. After Covid, very few go into the office and practically no one is in the office after 3 pm, so no more happy hours. (I miss those days). Now, J Dolan’s has opened a bar a quarter mile from my home in the new Foodland strip mall in Kahala. We ordered a 6 cheese pizza and added, garlic, mushrooms and spinach for our happy hour and it was very good. Their pizzas are good, but their appetizers (calamari, chicken wings, fries) are plain and boring.
